49th Edition of the International Exhibition of Humor

Theme of the year: NUCLEAR?? GENTLEMEN! NO THANKS...

  • For the fourth (and last) time the Salone is a guest of Sanremo, at the Ariston theater. The godmother is the organization "Greenpeace", a way to reiterate how humor is able to draw attention to big problems, making people smile and reflect. to the resumption of French nuclear tests when the memory of the Chernobyl disaster is still fresh.
    In fact, the title of the theme leaves no room for interpretation and gathers the participation of 75 nations. The position of the humorists is unequivocal.
    The exhibition was inaugurated on July 20th and the award ceremony will take place on the 25th at the Roof of the Casino.

    The exhibition which includes over 300 drawings, representing 75 nations, is once again a success with the public: over 8000 visitors is the reasoned estimate of the organizers.

    Guest of honor at the review is the writer Luciano De Crescenzo, already awarded the Palme d'Or with his "Thus spoke Bellavista".

The Awards

The Salone recognizes the artistic qualities of the participants in drawing and literature with several awards. Some prestigious institutions have wanted to add their patronage such as the Council of Europe, the Presidency of the Republic, the City of Bordighera and various other regional bodies and private foundations. The main prizes that are awarded by juries of outstanding personalities are the Palme d'Or trophy which represents the highest recognition for the Authors, the Golden Date and the Silver Date.
