Theme of the year: DEVIL, SORCERERS, WITCHES AND EXORCISM
The theme enhances the creativity of designers from over 40 countries. Devil and holy water as interpreted by the French Pierre Raymond, or the devil who slows down the navigation of the Church according to the Argentine Aldo Rivera (Golden Date) or the devil who enjoys tickling Atlas as the Bosnian Hazan describes Faslic.
Hans Moser, Switzerland, is awarded the Palme d'Or, Aldo Rivero, Argentina, the Golden Date of the Fixed Theme and Guido Clericetti, designs the manifesto. Marcello Marchesi, Italy, wins the Palme d'Or for Humorous Literature with "The best of the worst".
Particularly appreciated is the presence of Robert LaPalme, Canadian, artist and founder of the pavillon de l'Humour in Montreal, an organization with which the Salone will have a fruitful collaboration.
Marcello Marchesi, writer, screenwriter, director, lyricist, singer and actor, is the guest of honor of the award ceremony.
The Salone recognizes the artistic qualities of the participants in drawing and literature with several awards. Some prestigious institutions have wanted to add their patronage such as the Council of Europe, the Presidency of the Republic, the City of Bordighera and various other regional bodies and private foundations. The main prizes that are awarded by juries of outstanding personalities are the Palme d'Or trophy which represents the highest recognition for the Authors, the Golden Date and the Silver Date.
The event could not have lasted for over fifty years without the contribution of numerous "volunteers" and "precepts" who brought enthusiasm and desire to do whatever the task received, with nineteenth-century shifts! From the choice of the drawings, to the preparation of the panels (always the same every year), to the posting with various pins of the hundreds of drawings up to the presence on stage.
We therefore want to thank, in absolutely no order but with equal contributions, all those who come to mind, apologizing if we miss some, but we are ready to fix it!
