Theme of the year: ONE HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF CINEMATOGRAPHY
A centenary to which all humorists from 76 countries look with tenderness and gratitude for what cinema has done for the dissemination of culture and in our case of humor. There are few cases in which television is seen as an "enemy", see Hanspeter Wyss who throws all the films in landfills ..
Jurij Kosobukin, Ukraine, is awarded the Palme d'Or for drawing; Valerio Curtu, Germany, wins the Golden Date for the Fixed theme and Luigi Castiglioni, France, designs the poster. Marco Balestri wins the Palme d'Or for humorous literature with "Il Bestio e la Bestia" Ed. Larus.
The event that takes place at the Ariston is inaugurated with a memory of Totò and Macario in the presence of their respective families. A retrospective of Nehar Tublek, a Turkish designer and a loyalist of the Salone since the beginning, takes visitors to the Ariston rooms. Eurimages, the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe sets up its own exhibition pavilion. Active since 1989, it promotes independent cinema and encourages cooperation between different countries.
The Salone recognizes the artistic qualities of the participants in drawing and literature with several awards. Some prestigious institutions have wanted to add their patronage such as the Council of Europe, the Presidency of the Republic, the City of Bordighera and various other regional bodies and private foundations. The main prizes that are awarded by juries of outstanding personalities are the Palme d'Or trophy which represents the highest recognition for the Authors, the Golden Date and the Silver Date.
The event could not have lasted for over fifty years without the contribution of numerous "volunteers" and "precepts" who brought enthusiasm and desire to do whatever the task received, with nineteenth-century shifts! From the choice of the drawings, to the preparation of the panels (always the same every year), to the posting with various pins of the hundreds of drawings up to the presence on stage.
We therefore want to thank, in absolutely no order but with equal contributions, all those who come to mind, apologizing if we miss some, but we are ready to fix it!
