Theme of the year: COMMUNICATION THAT BRINGS THE WORLD CLOSER, FROM THE TELEPHONE TO THE INTERNET
Faithful to tradition, the exhibition tries to ride current events through the eyes of humorists from all over the world, protagonists of the desire for the Internet!
The vision of the new advancing is different; the Swiss Heinz Birg has a pessimistic vision of the future that "a laugh will bury", while Luciano Caratto graciously jokes about the opportunities that open up with the new technology. Also interesting is the vision of the Slovak K. Kanala who immortalizes two computers using an abacus, or that of the Chinese Yu Hua who with a scratchy sign portrays a person who, envelope in hand, struggles to go against the tide in a sea of smart phones. As per tradition, this year the Minimum Training Band "opens the dance ...". MTB is a group of humorists / musicians who, under the prudent guidance of Jurgen Furrer, undertake to honor their name!
Franco Bruna is awarded the Palme d'Or; Heinz Birg, Switzerland, wins the Golden Date for the Fixed Theme and Marco De Angelis designs the poster. Claudio Paglieri wins the Palme d'Or for humorous literature with "Non son worthy of Tex".
Of considerable interest is the lecture by Professor Alessandro Zucchelli, psychotherapist, on the theme "Laughing, your way to health - laughter makes good blood": a topic that is enjoying considerable success among the audience.
The Salone recognizes the artistic qualities of the participants in drawing and literature with several awards. Some prestigious institutions have wanted to add their patronage such as the Council of Europe, the Presidency of the Republic, the City of Bordighera and various other regional bodies and private foundations. The main prizes that are awarded by juries of outstanding personalities are the Palme d'Or trophy which represents the highest recognition for the Authors, the Golden Date and the Silver Date.
The event could not have lasted for over fifty years without the contribution of numerous "volunteers" and "precepts" who brought enthusiasm and desire to do whatever the task received, with nineteenth-century shifts! From the choice of the drawings, to the preparation of the panels (always the same every year), to the posting with various pins of the hundreds of drawings up to the presence on stage.
We therefore want to thank, in absolutely no order but with equal contributions, all those who come to mind, apologizing if we miss some, but we are ready to fix it!
